Alcoa's Kevin Anton Elected Chairman of Aluminum Association Board


NEW YORK--Alcoa (NYSE:AA) announced today that Kevin M. Anton, vice president of Alcoa and President of Alcoa Materials Management, has been elected chairman of the board of The Aluminum Association at the trade organization's annual membership meeting in Tucson, Arizona.

Mr. Anton succeeds Patrick M. Franc,president of ARCO Aluminum. Anton's two-year term begins January 1, 2008. He has been vice chairman of the Association for the past two years.

As president of Alcoa Materials Management, Mr. Anton is responsible for Alcoa's trading, sales and marketing activities related to primary products, including the physical and financial trading of primary and scrap aluminum, electricity trading, and transportation purchasing. He is also the Chief Financial Officer for Alcoa's Global Primary Products. This involves overseeing financial activities and strategy for Alcoa's nine alumina refineries, bauxite assets in Australia, Brazil, Jamaica, Suriname and Guinea, and the company's worldwide smelting system. He has been a vice president of Alcoa since 2006.

Previously, Mr. Anton worked as vice president of finance for Alcoa's Primary Products group and joined the company as vice president of Alcoa World Alumina and Chemicals.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Anton held senior management positions at Alumax Inc., including vice president and controller for Alumax's primary aluminum group and director of business planning.

Before Alumax, Mr. Anton held various financial positions, including director of business planning and development for AMAX Inc. a diversified mining and metals company.
