AIM NA Hosting Unique Device Identification Event

Session to Highlight Range of Technologies for UDI Compliance

Cranberry Township, PA – AIM North America (AIM NA), the industry association and authority on barcode, RFID, RTLS, NFC and mobile computing, announced today that the AIM North America Healthcare Committee will host a special event this week highlighting how technologies using unique device identification (UDI) are being used to meet recent U.S. compliance rules.

The intent is to offer the leaders and staff at federal agencies the opportunity to experience firsthand how AIM NA member companies – and many other U.S. businesses – are using UDI innovation in a variety of ways to enhance business processes in healthcare, and ultimately, consumer safety. Representatives from the AIM NA Healthcare Committee will provide demonstrations including the latest in direct part marketing (DPM), printing and scanning, verification and labeling, among other technologies.

"All of our members are not only committed to following protocols, such as the most recent UDI Rules issued in the last year, but equally as committed to adopting and promoting ways to take products and services beyond just compliance,” said Ardi Batmanghelidj, Chairman of the AIM NA Healthcare Committee and President & CEO of Innovatum, Inc. "The real value for American businesses, government agencies and consumers is in developing and maintaining a working partnership that benefits everyone. All of the members of the Healthcare Committee and AIM North America are honored to have the opportunity to work with federal agencies in that regard, and we hope this will be just the beginning of a valuable collaboration of ideas.”

In addition to the special event, AIM North America and Healthcare Committee members will play a significant part in the 7th Annual UDI Conference this week in Baltimore, Maryland. Conference attendees will have the opportunity to visit exhibits sponsored by AIM member companies, attend a presentation featuring live technology demonstrations and learn more about automatic identification & data capture innovation at the AIM Resource Station.

The Healthcare Committee of AIM North America is actively involved in a wide range of market segments throughout the industry. To learn more about the work being done, visit AIM NA Healthcare Committee or the AIM North America website.
