A One-Day Workshop on Air Barrier Systems for Green Buildings You Can't Miss

Why Green Buildings Cannot Be Built Without Air Barrier Systems

October 26, 2010

Washington, D.C.

Join us and Learn Why Green Buildings Need Air Barrier Systems

A building cannot truly be considered "green" if it cannot control air infiltration and exfiltration through its envelope by use of a properly designed air barrier system. Learn about this important building system at a one-day workshop.

Unregulated air flow through the building envelope can lead to health problems and excessive energy use. Without an effective air barrier system, buildings can suffer from poor indoor air quality. Condensation can occur, leading to mold and rot problems. Air leaks can also strain the efficiency and operations of HVAC systems.

The workshop is sponsored by the National Institute of Building Sciences Building Enclosure Technology and Environment Council, the Institute's High Performance Building Council and the Air Barrier Association.

Plan to attend and:

Learn about the significance of air control and barrier technology

See case studies of successful implementation of airtightness requirements

Examine the issues as seen by the industry association

Explore air barrier testing and commissioning

Discuss the need for future technical developments and join in an expert panel discussion.

Qualifying participants will earn Continuing Education System credits through the American Institute of Architects.
