August 31, 2009 - Taking place in Arlington, VA on September 16 and 17, the 2009 FAA/Flight Standards Service New Technologies Workshop IV, "Future Flight Technologies - The Wings of NextGen," will highlight innovations designed to enable critical transitions necessary for Next Generation Air Transportation System. It will also provide updates on NextGen building blocks, including key elements of existing programs, technology, and new systems under development.

AGENDA UPDATE:

Day 1: Hear Peggy Gilligan, FAA Associate Administrator for Aviation Safety, and Vickie Cox, FAA Air Traffic Organization's Senior Vice President for NextGen and Operations Planning, kick off the Workshop with remarks about the AVS/NextGen Nexus - the connections needed to bring NextGen to fruition.

Day 2: Mike Romanowski, Director of the FAA NextGen Integration and Implementation Office, and Steve Dickson, Senior Vice President of Flight Operations for Delta Air Lines and the RTCA Task Force 5 Chairman, will bring us up to speed on NextGen status and the recommendations of the RTCA Task Force on NextGen Mid-Term Implementation.
