Which Robotic Companies Went Platinum? Robotic Industries Association Has the List

ANN ARBOR, Michigan, November 28, 2007 - Full-page advertising insertions in major publications will honor Platinum members of Robotic Industries Association in 2008, according to RIA's Director, Marketing and Public Relations, Brian Huse. This recognition will be focused on integrators and suppliers, and is part of a larger awareness campaign for companies at the elite end of the dues range in North America's only trade association dedicated solely to robotics.

"This new public relations initiative was created when our members got together at RIA's 15th annual Robotics Industry Forum," explained Huse. "For years, Platinum members have invested at the highest levels of RIA dues, making a statement about their allegiance to the industry without fanfare. When RIA's Membership Committee met at the Forum in Orlando they hit on this idea to honor the Platinums and launched it then and there."

Many of the Platinum members have been with RIA for decades. This includes suppliers: ABB (30 years), EPSON Robots (29), Motoman (25), FANUC Robotics America (24), Nachi Robotic Systems (22), Staubli Robotics (17) and KUKA Robotics (12).

Platinum integrators include: Genesis Systems Group (13 years), ATS Automation Tooling Systems (8), Doerfer Companies (7), Willamette Valley Company (7), Rimrock Automation (3), Foodbotics By Colborne (2), Interlink Controls (new in 2007).

"When every marketing dollar counts, companies would not invest lightly in a robotics association unless it addressed a core business need; a number-one priority," said Catherine Morris, Chairman of the RIA Membership Committee. "Platinum members don't just belong; they pay more in dues, receive more in benefits and really get involved. We appreciate these companies and are truly pleased to acknowledge them." Morris is senior account manager at ATI Industrial Automation, based in Apex, North Carolina.

RIA's 2008 Robotics Industry Directory and other media partners will highlight these companies with ad insertions and more. Additional coverage can be found in Robots in America, an RIA blog site, and in Robotics Online, the industry's number-one site for robotics information. There is still time for other members to participate. To be included, companies must qualify as a robot supplier or integrator and be a Platinum member in good standing in Robotic Industries Association ($10,000 or $3,500 annual dues respectively).
