Vaisala has signed a contract to sell its oxygen measurement technology and business to SICK Maihak GmbH. The oxygen products belong to Controlled Environment business area's offering.
The divestment of oxygen business supports Controlled Environment's strategy to focus on the selected market segments of life science and high technology, building automation and targeted industrial applications. The divestment will not have significant impact on Vaisala's operating profit or personnel.
The transfer of the oxygen measurement technology and business know-how will start immediately and the production is planned to be moved to SICK in Germany at the beginning of 2011.
