Press release date: April 12, 2006

Nashville, Tenn. (April 12, 2006) - Universal Lighting has expanded its e-Learning Center to include HID lighting. The online education program was designed to provide free training for contractors, end-users, lighting designers, and distributors. There are now four educational courses, called modules, available through the e-Learning Center at universalballast.com.

The new HID module is divided into four user-friendly sections for the user's convenience. The first is an HID lamp overview, followed by two sections on magnetic HID ballasts. The final class is on electronic HID ballasts. Navigating through each online class is simple. It requires only a few mouse clicks, and each section wraps up with a quiz on the materials covered. Anyone is welcome to sign up for the classes free of charge by clicking on the "e-Learning Center" graphic on the right-hand side of the Universal Lighting homepage.

"With online training courses, we give contractors and distributors the opportunity to learn at their own pace whenever it is convenient for them to sit down at their personal computer," said Chris Holstein, marketing director for Universal Lighting. "We're going to continue to expand our online education program with new modules on a regular basis. As our e-Learning Center grows, we can help you stay on top of the latest technology and ahead of the competition."

Registering for the e-Learning Center takes less than 30 seconds. In addition to the HID module, online training courses are available in three other areas: Ballast Basics I, Ballast Basics II, and a Universal Lighting Products Overview.
