Press release date: June 19, 2007

SADDLE BROOK, NJ June 19, 2007 - Unilux, the world's leading designer and manufacturer of stroboscopic surface inspection systems, has named LuxNRG and Ivan Morozov , St. Petersburg, as its first sales representative for the Russian paper industry. LuxNRG develops turnkey logistics and automation control systems for the paper and metals industries. The company and Morozov will be responsible for introducing Unilux's strobe light technology for paper formation and system performance to mills that are modernizing to meet the growing demand for paper products and cellulose in Russia and Europe.

"Ivan and LuxNRG are ideally suited for bringing the Unilux solution to Russian paper mills," said Mike Simonis, president, Unilux. "Ivan has a strong technology background, and LuxNRG has a proven track record for developing and implementing technology solutions for Russian paper and steel companies, which are two of our key markets. With offices in Germany and China , LuxNRG understands what it takes to succeed in today's global economy, and that makes them a good fit with our global presence and our ability to work well with multi-national paper producers."

Morozov, who holds degrees in technology and economics from The Saint-Petersburg Polytechnic Institute, serves as general manager for LuxNRG. He began his career developing projects in satellite, audio/video and cellular communications projects, and his experience in technology implementation will help LuxNRG develop solutions to meet a paper mill's specific inspection and machine maintenance needs.

"Russian paper mills are not familiar with stroboscopes for inspection like mills in Europe and the United States," Morozov said. "The advanced mills in Russia that are owned by international corporations have experience with them, but many of the customers we will call on will be seeing Unilux systems for the first time. Our job will be to train their specialists on how they can use Unilux for every aspect of the paper making process and for keeping complex paper making equipment running cost-efficiently to avoid expensive downtime.

"In our initial visits to some mills," he continued, "we noticed that engineers were trying to find ways to use cameras and flash guns to take pictures of their process to make improvements. Unilux lights, such as the HioLighter and Beacon, have been used for years in advanced mills worldwide. They are portable and powerful, and they can be synched to video or still cameras to make the clear, stop-action images of fast-moving processes that can be used to correct defects, improve procedures and verify machine maintenance. We can show them there is no reason to reinvent the wheel."

Improving their processes will be critical to the success of Russian mills, which export more than 75 percent of their paper and cellulose production.

"Russian mills are producing tissue, kraft and carton board, and they are investing to modernize their equipment as their domestic markets continue to grow," said Volker Schlevoigt, Unilux marketing director for Europe, the Middle East and Africa. "Getting their technology and quality up to the next level will be critical because they have a great opportunity to export cellulose to paper mills throughout Europe and supply small, local mills. Unilux has the inspection solution that mills can quickly implement for an immediate return on their investment, and Ivan and LuxNRG have the capability to guide them through the process."

Unilux offers three portable stroboscopic inspection lights for the paper making industry, which allow operators and engineers to examine paper quality issues such as formation, head box, dewatering, stock jump and turbulence problems and monitor felt & wire, bearing and gear wear. The HioLighter, Miti-Lite and Beacon all can be synched with still or video cameras to provide images for process review and modification. The HioLighter and Miti-Lite are capable of lighting a wide area of the paper web with a flood pattern, and the Beacon can highlight minute defects across the web with its spot pattern. The Beacon and Miti-Lite are handheld, battery-powered strobe lights that can also be used to spot problems during machine maintenance and start-up.
