AURORA, Ill.- Processing Technologies International LLC (PTi), a leading global manufacturer of high-performance sheet extrusion machinery, showed off its highly energy-efficient plastics processing technology during an Aug. 28 visit with U.S. Rep. Judy Biggert (R-IL-13). During the 90-min. visit at PTi headquarters, Rep. Biggert viewed PTi's "dryerless" High-Vacuum Twin-Screw Extruder (HVTSE) system and met with several company leaders and employees to discuss economic issues that impact the manufacturing and sustainable technology industry.
"Manufacturing leaders like PTi drive prosperity here at home and can help lead our economy into a recovery, but Congress can and must do more to help create an environment in which American manufacturers can thrive," said Biggert, a seven-term legislator and a member of the House's education and the workforce committee. "At PTi, we had a very productive and insightful discussion about how the federal government can remove burdensome regulations, simplify the tax code, and promote fair trade policies that will result in manufacturing jobs in our community and across the nation."
PTi's eco-efficient production line eliminates drying and crystallization, resulting in energy savings of up to 35%.
