Two IQMS Customers Honored for Manufacturing Excellence
DeKALB Moded Plastics and Plastic Molding Technology were recognized with Excellence Awards by Plastics News at its annual forum last week
PASO ROBLES, CALIF. – IQMS, a manufacturing ERP software and MES developer with an ongoing, proactive commitment to its product and relationships, today announced that two customers were recently complimented with 2012 Plastics News Excellence Awards. DeKALB Molded Plastics earned the Employee Relations Excellence Award and Plastic Molding Technology Inc. (PMT) received the Customer Relations Excellence Award at the Plastics News Executive Forum in Tampa, Fla. on March 5.
Based in Bulter, Ind., DeKALB Molded Plastics is a 130-employee company that handles everything from molding to final assembly and warehousing for the medical, safety and recreation industries. Honored with the Employee Relations Excellence Award, DeKALB’s focus on employee success is clearly evident in every aspect of its company. For example, DeKALB president, Rick Walters, celebrates every employee’s anniversary date with an off-site meal and embraces enterprise-wide communication with quarterly profit-sharing and state-of-the-company meetings and reports.
Additionally, DeKALB has made a strong commitment to hiring veterans (about one-fourth of the employees hired in 2012 were veterans) and credits employees and their excellent execution of the disaster recovery plan for a quick bounce back from a fire in 2011. DeKALB also encourages its employees to give back to the community through events like an annual dinner honoring community emergency responders and organizations such as Big Brothers Big Sisters.
Turning 40 this year, Plastic Molding Technology Inc. (PMT) was awarded the Customer Relations Excellence Award by Plastics News’ team of judges. Located in El Paso, Texas, PMT specializes in small precision manufacturing for Tier 1 and Tier 2 automotive suppliers. It is evident that PMT’s No. 1 focus is its customers, with a retention rate to prove it: PMT’s top 15 clients have been customers for an average of seven years with no plans of going anywhere.
PMT has even gone so far as to put its key customers above the company by relocating the entire business from its roots in Connecticut to the Texas border to make it easier for its customers to get the supplies they need. Considered a top supplier, PMT commonly gets selected for its competitive pricing and quality and management systems, such as EnterpriseIQ from IQMS.
