Alliance, OH, 44601
USA

Press release date: February 1, 2011

Alliance, OH - Mark Volansky, Director of Sales for Winkle Industries Inc., is pleased to announce the appointment of Tim Vargo as Winkle's Regional Sales Manager in the Midwest, a territory that includes Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Wisconsin and Minnesota and part of Nebraska.

"Tim is a self-taught, hands-on kind of guy who brings 18 years of experience to his new position," says Volansky. "Winkle's broad product line and services are a perfect fit for his past customers and he can now offer them 'one stop shop' convenience."

Working out of Indiana, Vargo started his working career at ground level in construction. Making deliveries for a former employer, he developed a personal understanding of crane brake products and his customers in regional steel mills. Through his proactive approach to service, he soon found himself in customer sales and support. He is excited to be part of the Winkle team and about the expanded range of new products and services he can now offer to his customers.

"In the past, I sometimes had to step over opportunities and walk away from business to get to my product," says Vargo. "As a Winkle representative, I can provide my customers with everything to meet their needs - a full range of industry-leading end-to-end products, installation and service, plus engineering."

Vargo has high praise for Winkle's internal sales support team. He says that the company has the right staff in place, including customer service people, engineers and buyers, which enables him to focus on onsite sales and service.

Familiarizing himself with the extensive line of Winkle products and services has presented Vargo with a learning curve he welcomes. A self-described "quick study" who believes in the importance of product knowledge, he has supplemented his extensive knowledge of crane brakes with the Winkle catalog and new markets he will be covering like scrap recycling. "Customers purchase on trust and you must earn their confidence with your knowledge," he says. "Knowing your product and markets gets both of your feet in the door. After that, it's all about building relationships."

Vargo has had a great reception from his existing customers. "They know the lengths I'll go to look after them and now when I come in representing Winkle, it's a win-win for everybody," he says.

"A lot of hands are involved in meeting customer needs. Winkle Industries provides the product and services, while Winkle support provides the insight, solutions and processes. As a frontline Winkle representative, my job is to bring sales and service to the customer's front door-step. It's a perfect combination - I'm the right rep for the right company," says Vargo.
