DLP Pico™ showcases multiple product categories at CES 2014

Wide range of DLP Pico optical engines now available through a broad ecosystem of development partners

DALLAS and LAS VEGAS - At the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES), Texas Instruments (TI) (NASDAQ: TXN) DLP® Products is showcasing more than 30 new products and applications enabled by the family of DLP Pico™ chipsets.

Products that were once unthinkable are rapidly becoming reality as evidenced by the spectacular array of new products on display at the TI Village (N116), including the first battery-powered hand-held HD projectors, projected interactive displays that transform nearly any surface into large-format touchscreens, accessory heads-up display (HUD) for navigation, wearable HD displays, and phones and tablets that can project images more than 60 inches wide. Experience these products at CES 2014 by setting up a meeting here with TI DLP.

Across this wide array of products, the common theme is evident: DLP's world-class image quality and efficiency enable developers to create perfectly-sized images, small or large, from compelling form factors.

Supporting these advances is an extensive ecosystem of optical engine original design manufacturers (ODMs) and system integrators. ODM's can provide off-the-shelf solutions to complex and highly-integrated designs, allowing for a reduced development cycle time from years to months. ODM's can also provide custom solutions optimized to meet specific size, power, and brightness needs.

"And now through, developers will have easier access to the information they need, including a diverse collection of available optical engine platforms, allowing them to transform their visions into products faster than ever before."

TI supports developers and manufacturers through resources, coupled with an extensive and experienced ecosystem. Available on are display controller data sheets, an online forum, and links to ODM's. Coming in 2014 will be additional chip sets, data sheets, application notes, and evaluation modules.

Currently available display controllers include the DLPC2607 controller which supports the.2nHD, .24VGA, .3WVGA DLP Pico chips, and the DLPC6401 controller which supports .45WXGA chips.
