Telect Transforms Business Model After 24 Years

Updated Web Site Features Online Procurement, Live Chat, and Products for Expanded Market

LIBERTY LAKE, Wash., Oct. 24 / -- Telect, Inc. yesterday launched an all-new version of its company web site, www.telect.com .

Since the company's acquisition of Hendry Telephone Products in October 2004, Telect has been transforming its business model to sell across multiple markets, including communications, enterprise, and residential. The updated web site reflects business promises to customers and this new business model. The new site features a completely revamped design and content structure, along with several key features not readily found among current web sites of telecommunications infrastructure equipment manufacturers.

Online pricing and purchasing: List pricing and product availability are readily available for all visitors to Telect.com. All products may be purchased with a credit card or company-approved purchase order by U.S. customers. Competitive web sites offer limited purchasing capabilities, but do not make purchasing available to all online customers.

Online project carts: Telect.com users can create an online project to select and manage items required for a new installation or other project; then, when they are ready to purchase equipment, they can migrate the project list to an online order, effectively creating a bill of materials for the project. Multiple projects can be saved and edited on Telect.com.

Live support chat: During regular North American business hours, Telect sales, technical support and product management staff will provide customer sales and service support through an online chat feature, in addition to traditional support via telephone and email. Live chat will provide Telect customers with quick answers to simple questions, as well as guidance when purchasing or installing Telect products.

Best price guarantee: Telect's industry-leading pricing now includes a "Best Price Guarantee" offered online, where the company will meet or beat direct competitive pricing for an exact-match product.

According to Telect President and CEO Wayne Williams, the new Telect.com is part of the company's overall, ongoing effort to offer its current customers greater service and features, while expanding into new markets.

"We've spent an intense 12 months transforming our business model, and the leading result of that it what you see today on Telect.com," Williams said. "Essentially, we're challenging the traditional ways of doing business in the communications equipment industry. We'll continue to evolve the site by adding new features and new products that we believe touch all markets, and will soon offer product ordering to international customers."

Other key Telect.com features include a robust resource library, which includes manuals, documentation and FAQs regarding Telect products; details about Telect distribution partners around the globe; complete company information; and much more. Also, users who sign in and create an account on Telect.com will view pricing and product information customized to their company.

Telect initially launched its web site in 1994. Since its inception, Telect.com has been a leading web site for communications infrastructure manufacturers, from design and content to usability. Today, Telect is one of the first suppliers of its type to offer full online purchasing capabilities to all customers -- including taking hold of new markets.
