Telcordia Discusses Critical Role of Next-Gen B/OSS to Deliver Innovative Services at TM Forum Management World Americas 2010

Presentations Cover the Cloud Computing Value Chain, Mobile Advertising and Service Assurance for Explosive Mobile Data Growth

PISCATAWAY, N.J., Nov. 9, 2010 - Telcordia, a global leader in the development of IP, wireline, and mobile telecommunications software and services, announced today its slate of speakers at this week's TM Forum Management World Americas 2010 in Orlando, FL, emphasizing the critical role of Next-Gen B/OSS in enabling communications service providers (CSPs) to deliver innovative services and to stay competitive in the mobile value chain.

Telcordia's Chief Technology Officer & Chief Strategy Officer Adan K. Pope will participate in an executive debate, entitled "Smart Pipes: Cloud - Who's the Service Provider?" The panel will discuss the role of CSPs in the cloud computing value chain, where they need to invest to capture market share, and what competitive forces will affect their position.

"There is a fair amount of hype surrounding cloud-based services, but ultimately the market winners will be those who provide the most valuable cloud services with the greatest internal operational efficiencies," said Pope. "CSPs need to expose their infrastructure and core competencies to customers and value chain partners, which will drive B/OSS to become more of a profit center than a cost center."

In addition to Pope's keynote, three other Telcordia senior team members will participate in speaking engagements. Grant Lenahan, Vice President and Strategist, will facilitate a guided group discussion on "Mobile Advertising: What Will Drive its Success." The session will discuss the key success factors that were not addressed in the first wave of mobile advertising as well as explore the opportunities that are present in today's mobile advertising ecosystem.

Matthew Herdlein, Executive Director, will participate in a panel, entitled "Mobile Data Explosion: Proactively Managing SLAs with Quality." This panel will take the perspective of a CSP acting as a wholesaler for wireless backhaul in selecting tools for service management, including KPIs from probes, network elements, fault, performance, and trouble tickets to monitor / predict SLA (service level agreement) performance.

Stephen Fratini, Senior Engineer, Chief Strategy Office, Telcordia will deliver two presentations, including "Introduction to the TM Forum Integration Program" and "Service Provider Survey Results: Key Management Interface Needs."
