TRFA Elects 2009 Officers



Glen Ellyn, IL - Following its 2008 Annual Meeting, September 14-16 in Chicago, Illinois, the Thermoset Resin Formulators Association (TRFA) announced new officers for 2009. They are: President: Dr. Vinay Mishra, ITW Devcon; Vice President: Valerie Walker, Crosslink Technology, Inc.; Secretary/Treasurer: Jason Tuerack, Broadview Technologies, Inc.; and Immediate Past President: John Cech, CVC Thermoset Specialties.

Newly elected members of the TRFA Board of Directors are David Elmendorf, Sika Corporation and Christopher Andreola, Cabot Corporation who will serve through 2011 and Julie Mongeluzi, Dow Epoxy to serve through 2010. Those members of the Board of Directors continuing to serve are Scott Harvey, Chemroy Canada, Inc. and Tim Atkinson, Pro-Set Inc. through 2009 and Domingo "Tito" Llopiz, Evonik Corporation through 2010. TRFA also thanked outgoing Board Members, Ellen O'Connell, Air Products & Chemicals and Marc-Antoine Pierre-Louis, Sealrez, Inc. for their generous commitment of time and talent to the association over the last three years.

As TRFA president, Mishra, who serves as Research & Development Manager for ITW Devcon, will promote the organization's mission to "serve the needs of thermoset formulators and suppliers" and its key objective "to be the premier forum for members to interact and exchange knowledge." According to Mishra, "participation in TRFA has allowed our company to effectively and efficiently pool resources with other industry organizations to achieve common objectives." Benefits of TRFA membership include guidance on pending regulations, access to technology updates via industry-specific programming and a venue at conferences for meeting both current and potential customers.

TRFA is comprised of thermoset formulators and fabricators, raw material suppliers, distributors, equipment manufacturers, manufacturer sales representatives of materials or equipment, importers of raw materials or processing or other equipment, consulting firms and academic institutions serving industries which include adhesives, coatings, civil engineering applications, electrical laminates, composites, tooling, castings and moldings.
