Press release date: June 8, 2011

Bowie, MD - The Tire Industry Association (TIA), one of the leading global authorities on tires, today announced their host hotel and preliminary plans for the 2011 Global Tire Expo - Powered by TIA, which is a part of the 2011 SEMA Show, taking place October 31 - November 4, 2011 in Las Vegas, NV. For the latest Expo information and updates, visit the "Events" section of www.tireindustry.org.

This Year's TIA Host Hotel: the Cosmopolitan Hotel

TIA has managed to make the Cosmopolitan Hotel - one of Las Vegas' newest and hottest hotels - as their host hotel. The Cosmopolitan offers spacious rooms, a wide selection of dining and shopping options and a location that is in the heart of all of the action on the world-renowned Las Vegas Strip. The room rate is $159/night. Hotel rooms are limited; to reserve a room, call 800.221.3531, or visit the "Events" section of www.tireindustry.org.

Educational Sessions - New "Green @ Noon" Session Track

TIA will keep their successful "TPMS at 10," "Truck Tires at 10," "Tires at 2" and "Management at 4" educational session tracks. Each day, attendees will have the opportunity to attend sessions led by the top experts in the tire industry. Topics will include TPMS tools of the trade, the future of emergency road service and the impact of the new health care regulations on the tire industry. TIA will also hold their popular "Successful Tire Dealers Share Their Secrets" session for Tuesday's "Tires at 2."

Additionally, TIA is excited to announce the creation of "Green @ Noon," an educational session track that will feature leading experts who will discuss the pressing topics concerning environmental issues in the tire industry and how they can impact and benefit tire dealers. Topics are tentatively to include sustainability and environmental best practices, tire manufacturers going "green" and what dealers are doing to "green" their business.

Wine & Cheese Social and Tire Industry Honors

Back for their third year are two of TIA's special events: the Wine & Cheese Social and Tire Industry Honors. Due to the overwhelming success of both events, they will be back for this year. Both events will take place at the Cosmopolitan on Monday, October 31. The Wine & Cheese Social will start at 5:00 p.m. Admission to this event is complimentary for all TIA members and Show attendees.

Immediately following the Wine & Cheese Social from 6:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. will be Tire Industry Honors. This event, also held at the Cosmopolitan, will honor this year's Tire Industry Hall of Fame recipients and the torch will be passed from the current TIA President, Mike Berra, to the incoming President, Larry Brandt. Tire Business, Tire Review and Modern Tire Dealer will return to participate in this event. Tire Business will be presenting their "Tire Dealer Humanitarian Award, "Tire Review will be presenting their "Top Shop" award, and Modern Tire Dealer will be honoring the outgoing TIA President. Admission to this event is complimentary to all TIA members and Show attendees; however, an RSVP is required. For reservations, please visit the "Events" section of www.tireindustry.org, or call 800.876.8372, ext. 104.

Welcome Reception

Immediately following these events from 7:30 - 9:30 p.m. will be TIA's annual Welcome Reception at the Cosmopolitan's Bamboo Pool. Guests will be treated to some of the best food, drinks and entertainment on the Strip - all under a starry desert sky. Tickets are $65 per person; they may be ordered by visiting the "Events" section of www.tireindustry.org, or by calling 800.876.8372, ext. 104.

Sponsorships Available

Sponsorships for this year's TIA events - including the Welcome Reception, Wine & Cheese Social and Tire Industry Honors - are available. Sponsorship is an effective way to show support of TIA and to promote a business/product/service. A sponsorship form is available in the "Events" section of www.tireindustry.org, or interested sponsors can contact Wilson Beach (800.876.8372, ext. 103, or wbeach@tireindustry.org).

"Last year's inaugural Global Tire Expo - Powered by TIA was an overwhelming success, and the word has definitely gotten out that it's the epicenter of the tire industry for that week," said TIA Executive Vice President Roy Littlefield. "We're encountering extremely healthy booth sales and registrations; we're expanding our world-class educational sessions with the addition of the 'Green @ Noon' session track and our TIA pre-Expo events will continue to build on previous years' successes. We're also excited to have the Cosmopolitan Hotel as our host hotel. It's one of Las Vegas' newest and trendiest hotels in the heart of all of the action on the Strip, and we've managed to obtain a fantastic room rate for our members. That's why I encourage everyone in the tire industry to be a part of the excitement and make plans to be at this year's Expo."

About TIA: TIA is an international association representing all segments of the tire industry, including those that manufacture, repair, recycle, sell, service or use new or retreaded tires, and also those suppliers or individuals who furnish equipment, material or services to the industry. The Tire Industry Association (TIA) has a history that spans more than 80 years and includes several name changes. Originally known as the National Tire Dealers & Retreaders Association (NTDRA), the organization gave birth over the years to the American Retreaders Association (ARA) and the Tire Association of North America (TANA). ARA changed its name to the International Tire & Rubber Association (ITRA) and merged with TANA in 2002 to form the current Tire Industry Association (TIA), which now represents every interest in the tire industry.
