Press release date: March 13, 2007

DALLAS (March 13, 2007) - Texas Instruments Incorporated (TI) (NYSE: TXN) announced today a new package size for the XIO2000A, its industry-leading PCI Express to PCI Bus translation bridge device targeting PCI Express Mini Cards and ExpressCards for the mobile computing market where board space is a premium.

The XIO2000A is now available in a 12x12 mm package size, providing a 36 percent reduction over the previous generation, while maintaining the industry standard 0.8 mm ball pitch.

XIO2000A Proven Leadership in the Market

The XIO2000A has enjoyed tremendous success in the industry. Since it was introduced in January 2006, TI has shipped the XIO2000A to more than 250 customers worldwide. As a further testament to its leadership in the market, the product was recently named an EE Times ACE Award finalist.

"By offering the XIO2000A in a smaller package, we are responding to our customer's request for a compact footprint device that will enable new applications in the BTO and CTO add-in card markets," said Jawaid Ahmad, strategic product marketing manager for TI's Digital Interface business.

TI is also introducing a new 12x12mm package size for the XIO2200A PCI Express to 1394a end point device which targets the ExpressCard, add-in card and desktop motherboard markets.

"Leveraging TI's latest chipsets in the 12x12mm package size offers us routing flexibility and space for additional circuitry in our ExpressCard designs for 1394 and multi-IO applications," said Daniel Huang, R&D director from Sunix Co.

Availability, Package and Pricing

The XIO2000Aand XIO2200 in 12x12 mm package size are available now from TI and its authorized distributors. Suggested resale pricing in quantities of 1K is $10.50 for XIO2000AZHH and $9.50 for XIO2200AZHH.

TI´s Commitment to PCI Express

TI has been a leader in the development of PCI Express technology since the introduction of its discrete x1 PHY in 2004. Today TI has a comprehensive portfolio of PCI Express devices that include bridges, switches, PHYs and 1394a/1394b endpoints for the PCI Express architecture. TI is continuing to invest in this market.
