Stäubli Connectors to Exhibit at WINDPOWER 2012

Featuring Connectors for Thermal Management and Hydraulics

Duncan, SC - Stäubli's Connectors Division has announced plans to attend WINDPOWER 2012, June 3 - 6 at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, GA. The largest annual wind-focused exhibition in the world, WINDPOWER attracts professionals from all spheres of the wind energy industry. Stäubli will display its latest innovations in connection technology at Booth 7309.

Known for its highly reliable, trouble-free connectors, Stäubli offers a wide range of connection solutions for fluids, thermal management, hydraulics, electrical supply and all energy systems. Its connectors address an array of wind industry concerns, such as preventing fluid leaks in the nacelle. As Stäubli Aerospace/Defense Application Specialist Rusty Robertson explained, "The wind energy industry depends heavily on reliability because of the remoteness of their equipment. Keeping the fluid in the lines, even in the disconnected position, is essential."

The industry has increasingly looked to Stäubli to supply connectors for thermal management. Its quick disconnects are used by inverter manufacturers, among others, in liquid cooling circuits for power inverters in the nacelle at the top of wind turbine towers. "System integrity is critical, as you don't want fluid to escape either during regular operation or maintenance. It can cause a safety issue in the nacelle, and it is difficult to perform service up there. A reliable quick disconnect helps to ensure overall system integrity," said Robertson.

Hydraulic systems within the wind turbine system also benefit from Stäubli connectors, which include a complete line of robust, dependable quick disconnects for hydraulic applications. These products are engineered to keep systems operating at peak performance at all times by preventing loss of fluid and unnecessary servicing.

Stäubli's exhibit at WINDPOWER 2012 will feature quick disconnect products for a wide variety of wind-related applications, including connectors for cooling systems, hydraulic systems, and some general application, with a particular focus on thermal management and hydraulics.
