Experts to Discuss the Importance of Continuous Monitoring for Federal Networks

SAN FRANCISCO, Nov. 11, 2010 - Splunk today announced it will host a federal cyber security panel with government leaders and industry experts to discuss current trends and the need for continuous monitoring. Government organizations are under constant attack; dynamic threats and zero-day outbreaks continue to challenge their ability to maintain data security and network integrity. The event will be held November 18 at Zola in Washington, D.C.

Additionally, Splunk government customers will discuss the challenges with continuous monitoring and cyber security. The event will close with a sneak preview of the Splunk FISMA Application.

What: Splunk Federal Executive Panel

Who: Opening remarks from Splunk president and CEO Godfrey Sullivan and Tony Ayaz, vice president of federal sales. The panel will include industry experts and leading government executives, including:

o Michael Brown, Deloitte/Former CISO, FAA
o Andy Purdy, Cyber Security Strategist, CSC
o Tony Summerlin, Co-founder, Kickstand
o Lisa Lindholm, CISO, Bureau of Land Management
o Jason Polancich, VP/CTO, Novii Design

When: Thursday, November 18, 2010 from 11:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. ET. Panel to begin at 1:00 p.m. ET.
