Spectra Energy Launches New YouTube Video as Part of Ongoing Natural Gas Advocacy Effort

'Kids Say the Darndest Things... About Natural Gas'

HOUSTON, Jan. 6, 2011 - Spectra Energy Corp (NYSE: SE) this week launched its second YouTube video, "Kids Say the Darndest Things... About Natural Gas," as part of its ongoing, grassroots advocacy effort to promote the benefits and uses of natural gas.

The three-minute, unscripted video features more than 20 children, representing an array of ages, who articulately express their views on what they know or think about natural gas. And what they do not know, they improvise, making for a fun, engaging piece that effectively conveys high-level messages about the clean, domestically abundant, efficient and reliable fuel source.

"We have been utilizing a variety of communications tools to raise the visibility of natural gas and promote its use and benefits. We think YouTube is a unique and well-received means of sharing a compelling story to a broad, highly diverse and global audience," said Toni Beck, group vice president, internal and external affairs, Spectra Energy.

Spectra Energy's first YouTube video, "Natural Gas - the Natural Choice," was launched in Fall 2009 and received the American Gas Association's inaugural Award of Excellence, which recognizes excellence in video communications by an energy company.
