SparkLAN Ships Atheros-Based 802.11n Dual-Band Mini-PCI Module

CeBIT 2008, Hannover, Germany, March 5 - SparkLAN, broadband wireless networking solution provider, announces the availability of IEEE 802.11n draft 2.0 2.4G/5.0 GHz dual-band Mini-PCI module, which is based on Atheros' XSPAN® Mini-PCI reference design (SparkLAN model no. is WMIA-199N).
SparkLAN manufactures & distributes Atheros-based Wi-Fi Mini-PCI modules to networking customers worldwide. The company's product portfolio encompasses 802.11g/b single-band and 802.11a/b/g & 802.11n dual-band solutions, featuring low-power consumption and high-performance Mini-PCI RF modules which can be integrated with different CPU platforms for embedded systems, such as indoor or outdoor AP/Routers, mesh networking APs, set-top boxes, xDSL Modems, DVRs, point of sale devices and gaming consoles. SparkLAN not only provides high-quality Mini-PCI RF modules, but also offers technical support for driver porting. To reinforce its continued collaboration with Atheros, SparkLAN has signed a Technical Licensing Agreement with the company which allows SparkLAN to release driver source code, subject to sub-licensing agreements and requirements, for client application development. This availability to source code will help our customers launch new products enabling the fastest time-to-revenue.
