CoVi Integrates Crystal HD Video Surveillance System into Siemens' SiPass Access Control Management Solution to Create Comprehensive Security Platform

AUSTIN, Texas, and MALVERN, Pa., Sept. 24 / -- CoVi Technologies and Siemens Building Technologies, Inc., today announced a reseller agreement that enables Siemens Building Technologies to offer its thousands of U.S. customers CoVi's flagship Crystal HD(TM) video surveillance system, the world's only integrated high-definition, IP-network based video surveillance system.

As a CoVi authorized reseller, technology integrators in Siemens 100 branches across the U.S. are now equipped with the latest products demos, training materials, technology specifications, and pricing information for CoVi's high-definition cameras, Distributed Media Managers (DMMs) and software management solutions.

The two companies also announced the integration of CoVi's Crystal HD system with Siemens SiPass(R) Access Control Management solution to provide a comprehensive access control and security environment. With this integration, high-quality HD video surveillance feeds will be managed and viewable via the existing SiPass user interface, making it easier for security professionals to monitor security throughout their organizations and respond more quickly to alarm events. "CoVi's high-definition video surveillance solution offers our customers a powerful tool to protect their personnel and corporate assets enterprise wide," said Perry Levine, director, product management, Security Systems Americas, Siemens Building Technologies. "Siemens is committed to bringing the best security and access control technologies and solutions to its customers, and CoVi is the ideal solutions partner."

Developed by Siemens Building Technologies, SiPass makes it possible for an enterprise to control and monitor enterprise-wide facilities from a single workstation. It's a total security solution that has the ability to incorporate video surveillance, access control, card printing and encoding, and video recording management under a single Graphic User Interface (GUI).

Integrating high-quality video from CoVi's Crystal HD system, gives SiPass users a powerful new visual tool to easily monitor and respond to security related activities throughout the organization, without having to learn a new user interface or switch between monitoring platforms.

For example, the SiPass system can determine when an entry access card is swiped to open a door. From a single workstation and interface, a security professional can see which access card is swiped and immediately view real- time high-definition video of the individual entering the door. If an "alarm event" occurs, such as a door being forced open, the real-time video will immediately alert the security professional. The single integrated interface puts all of the necessary information at the security professional's fingertips, dramatically reducing the effort and time to monitor security situation, and respond if necessary.

"Siemens Building Technologies is known for providing its customers with innovative yet easy to use security solutions that fit their precise needs," said Barry Walker, president and CEO of CoVi Technologies. "Making CoVi Crystal HD part of a complete SiPass Access Management solution will help organizations ease the burden of monitoring complex enterprise environments, while improving their ability to respond quickly to all types of security issues. In addition, with the reseller agreement Siemens customers can now leverage CoVi's powerful IP-based, high-definition perimeter surveillance capabilities for a variety of environments, including corporate buildings, parking garages and existing campus installations."

CoVi's Crystal HD system is the world's only integrated high-definition, IP-based video surveillance system. Crystal HD is based on CoVi's Security Camera Area Network (SCAN(TM)) architecture, which encodes and stores video at the IP network edge to provide unparalleled performance and reliability. Crystal HD's unique distributed architecture is a dramatic departure from the legacy centralized CCTV topology, and maximizes quality and functionality while minimizing network usage. Crystal HD integrates cameras, Distributed Media Managers (DMMs), and monitoring and management software to provide unparalleled performance and reliability.
