Standard Certified Colors Online tool helps specifiers choose powder coatings colors for food display and potable water equipment

(CLEVELAND - June 8, 2007) - A new online color selector is now available from Sherwin-Williams Chemical Coatings Division to assist coatings specifiers in selecting powder coatings in both NSF/ANSI Standard 51 colors for food display equipment such as salad bars, buffet tables, and food mixing/preparation housings, and NSF/ANSI Standard 61 Colors for valves, fittings, tanks and pipe used for potable (drinking) water.

To access the color card, go to www.sherwin-williams.com/oem and click on Color Selectors, Powdura National Sanitation Foundation Reference Card. The file can be accessed and printed in PDF format. Shown are 18 NSF Standard 51 and six NSF Standard 61 colors, plus a clearcoat in each powder coating formulation.

For the food and beverage and industry, Sherwin-Williams Chemical Coatings offers many NSF 51-certified coatings. The formulations of these coatings, most of which are hybrids, combine the durable film properties of an epoxy with the overbake stability of a polyester. These coatings offer excellent transfer efficiency and rapid film build, allowing for complete coverage and protection in hard-to-reach areas such as recesses and corners. For the potable water industry, POWDURA NSF-61 coatings provide a high gloss, smooth finish with excellent hardness and outstanding chemical resistance properties. These coatings are recommend for application to potable water equipment such as storage tanks, valves, fittings, commercial and domestic drinking water dispensers, desalination units, military potable water supply equipment and for wastewater treatment equipment.

Sherwin-Williams has four plants certified to manufacture NSF coatings located across North America. A complete listing of the company's NSF-51 and NSF-61 coatings is available at www.sherwin-williams.com/oem.

The Sherwin-Williams Chemical Coatings Division, celebrating 140 years of experience in products finishing technology, serves the chemical coatings market through a North American network of company-owned locations and with expanding global reach.
