COPPELL, Texas, July 16 /-- Shared Technologies Inc. (STI), a leading provider of converged voice and data communications solutions, announced today that it has completed a transaction with Commonwealth Communication, LLC, a Citizens Communications Company doing business under the Frontier Communications Solutions name, to immediately acquire portions of the customer base formerly owned and serviced by Commonwealth Telephone Enterprises Inc., of Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. Commonwealth Telephone Enterprises was acquired by Citizens Communications in March, 2007.
The majority of the newly acquired customers own and operate Nortel equipment and are located in southeast Pennsylvania, as well as Harrisburg and surrounding areas. The transaction involves over 100 customers and approximately 150 customer sites. Already the largest independent distributor of Nortel products in the United States, STI will continue to expand its national footprint and capabilities with this acquisition.
