STERLING HEIGHTS, Mich. - Serapid USA has designed a labor and time saving system for a battery manufacturer.
A manufacturer of lead-acid batteries needed a better way to maintain its presses. The issue manufacturers of these types of batteries encounter is that the material, lead, is so soft that residue builds up on the stamping presses and residue strippers, and has to be regularly cleaned during production. This leads to lengthy down times while the operator manually removes nuts and bolts to release the die and plate.
Serapid, known for finding creative solutions for unique manufacturing situations, was consulted, and its die handling experts were able to custom fit Serapid products to the specific press application and were able to design a clamping solution enabling the operator to completely remove the plate with a simple click of a button.
Serapid has a longstanding commitment to continued innovation and product development as well as to providing leadership in the advancement of engineering practices worldwide.
