STERLING HEIGHTS, Mich.- Serapid USA has produced a custom quick die change system for a Midwest manufacturer.
The manufacturer of modular agricultural storage buildings was looking to automate a die change system comprised of one dedicated refurbished press with two bump style dies. The company was experiencing lengthy change times using a forklift, as well as storage issues for the dies. To automate the process could call for expensive and costly press modifications.
Serapid was able to engineer an efficient solution, producing a custom die changer made to specifically fit the refurbished press, at a fraction of the cost of modifying the press itself. The system is operated by flipping a switch; the changer brings the die into position within 2 minutes with no manual positioning and no forklift or cranes. The dies are latched together and do not need to be stored.
