Second Wind Retools Popular Website as an Industry and Business Resource


WYOMISSING, Pa., Feb. 8 -- Second Wind, the advertising industry information resource for smaller and midsize ad agencies, design, PR and marketing firms, labored for more than a year to redevelop its popular website, turning it from a members-only knowledge center to an industry-wide resource of use to general business visitors.

"It was a huge undertaking," said Second Wind COO Laurie Mikes. "We restructured our informational databases and redesigned site functionality, seeing new possibilities and services we could build into Second Wind Online. We look forward to user feedback on the new features."

The site launched in December to Second Wind members. Rollout to a wider public audience followed in January, opening a portion of the site's Knowledge Base content to the general business community. Rolling home page articles and weekly featured content are free to all visitors. Content covers a broad range of advertising, marketing and business information.

Another valuable public feature is Agency Search, where businesses seeking services can search the Second Wind member directory for marketing firms by name, location, size and specialty.

The upgraded online store for Second Wind training materials, improved member Forums, lots of new content and a fresh appearance are the result of collaboration between Second Wind and developer Marketspace Design Group of Mississauga, Ontario, Canada (http://www.msdg.com/).

The site also reflects Second Wind's updated brand, and new mission, to help each user organization "BE a Better Agency." This rebranding is reflected in a new URL, secondwindonline.com/.
