Sartomer to Present Study Findings on Automotive Coatings at American Coatings Show

EXTON, Pa., March 11, 2010 - Sartomer USA, LLC researcher William R. Schaeffer will present a new paper on weather resistant radiation-curable acrylates at the upcoming American Coatings Show, April 13 to 15 in Charlotte (www.american-coatings-show.com).

The paper, titled "Highly Weather Resistant Radiation Curable Monomers and Oligomers for Exterior Applications," was authored by Schaeffer with fellow Sartomer scientist Robert Kensicki. The presentation will examine the positive results of an ongoing study that has shown that these acrylates, which are free from hindered amine light stabilizers (HALS) and light absorbers, can withstand greater than five years of Florida weather exposure without degradation. The performance of these products was also compared to a standard two-component urethane intended for automotive topcoat applications.

The paper will be presented at 10 a.m. as part of the Automotive Coatings session on Wednesday, April 14.
