SANTA ANA, Calif., and LAS VEGAS, Jan. 7 - SRS Labs Inc. (NASDAQ:SRSL), a leading provider of surround sound, audio enhancement and voice processing technologies announced today that ViewSonic, a leading global provider of visual display products, will bundle a custom software solution, developed by SRS Labs, with new 2008 monitors. The software solution was designed expressly to improve the sound quality of monitors with built-in speakers, allowing consumers to experience high quality audio without purchasing separate audio components.
SRS Labs delivers innovative and custom PC software solutions, which is a unique method for providing their audio enhancement technologies to manufacturers that do not utilize any discrete IC circuitry for audio processing. Consumers will receive a CD with SRS Labs' software that ships with most new ViewSonic monitors. All they need to do is to load the software and immediately they will begin to experience high quality audio performance from the monitor's built-in speakers. There is no need to add external speakers -- thus eliminating clutter on the desktop and the additional expense.
The custom software solution that is bundled with the ViewSonic monitors uses SRS Labs' popular WOW HD(TM) audio process. It is designed to improve audio performance, especially from highly compressed audio files, by expanding the size of the perceived sound image and creating a deep, rich bass response. SRS WOW HD restores information that is lost by traditional recording and playback techniques, creating a more natural and realistic audio experience with overall improved fidelity. Additionally, SRS WOW HD delivers a bigger, wider sound field, with greater definition and clarity in the high frequency range.
