Mississauga, Ontario - February 8, 2008 - Learning about Lean and implementing its practice is a journey. Certification at the Bronze Level is crucial for those looking to increase their skill set and advance. Interested candidates should mark their calendars and attend the Lean Bronze Certification Review Class and Exam in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada on Monday, February 25 and Tuesday, February 26, 2008. Both will be held at Four Points by Sheraton Toronto Airport West, 6090 Dixie Road in Mississauga, Ontario. The Monday, February 25th Review class will run from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Tuesday, February 26th the Review Class will be held from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. with the Lean Bronze Certification Exam (optional; additional fee required) conducted on Wednesday, February 27th from 8 a.m. to 12 noon. These sessions will be presented by the Association for Manufacturing Excellence (AME), who have partnered together with the Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME) and the Shingo Prize to create this Lean Certification program.

This popular Lean Bronze Certification Review Class and Exam will explore what certification is about, what the exam will encompass and additional necessary steps to complete and pass Bronze Level Certification. This is the first step before advancing to Silver and Gold Certification levels. Lean practitioners will share ideas in a collaborative group format. The training will be useful to those who are preparing for formal Lean Certification or assessing how their knowledge measures up to the Lean ideal. Activities will include a review of the Body of Knowledge and recommended reading materials, discussion of Lean Concepts, practice exercises, sample test questions and discussion of the Lean Certification Portfolio and mentoring requirements. Individuals on a Lean Journey are encouraged to attend this review class. They will have the opportunity to share their approach to deploying Lean concepts with other Lean practitioners/professionals on a similar track. This is an excellent opportunity to enhance one's career even if one decides not to sit for the exam. Study materials for the course consist of the body of knowledge listed on the SME website ( These materials must be purchased and read by attendees prior to attending the review course. Attendees are asked to bring these materials for use during the course and the open-book exam.
