LOS ANGELES, CA (December 20, 2007) - SEI Chemical, has announced the appointment of Dr. Maurice A.S. Stephenson as Chief Chemist.
This is a new position with SEI that has facilities in Los Angeles and sales around the globe. SEI is a fast-growing leader in the formulation, manufacture and marketing of some of the world's most effective and user-friendly coatings and additives for graffiti and mold resistance and removal, anti-corrosion and protective products for industrial and consumer applications.

It also required us to construct a large, new laboratory facility that necessitated a highly skilled-driven R & D operation with a chemist with exceptional credentials and proven track record. That individual we found in Dr. Maurice A.S. Stephenson, a leading polymer chemist with a sterling track record at DuPont, where he synthesized new monomers and polymers for coating applications. He brings a unique mix of demonstrated entrepreneur skills and technical expertise to our organization."
In addition to having been a polymer chemist for DuPont, Dr. Stephenson's experience and background includes working as a professor for ITT Tech and esteemed positions as Chief Research Scientist for three multi-national corporations. Of key importance to SEI Chemical and their growing base of customers, Dr. Stephenson has been engaged in top level research programs for the development of new chemical polymers and products. SEI Chemical is well-known as a new product innovator. A multi-patent holder and prolific writer, Dr. Stephenson has dealt directly with the FDA, EPA, ASTM Council and state level compliancy agencies.
A resident of Los Angeles, Dr. Stephenson earned a PhD in Physical Organic Chemistry from the University of Southern California, a Masters Degree in Chemistry from Howard University and a B.S degree in chemistry from the University of District Columbia.
