Romax Is World Class - It's Official

Romax Technology, the leading global supplier of software tools and services for transmissions engineering, has been accredited with the renowned quality management standard ISO 9001: 2000.

To achieve this accreditation, which is concerned with the 'quality management' of the service that Romax provides to its global base of customers, the company has implemented a completely new quality management system, improved its software support and training services and its engineering and software development processes.

As a result of the accreditation, which Romax achieved in just over a year, the company will also be placing an ever-increasing focus on customer satisfaction, and to enable it to do this, Romax has implemented a comprehensive customer feedback system across its many global offices.

General Bearing Corporation in New York, USA is just one of many customers which has used the RomaxDesigner and Robert Hatton, technical manager, explains how the company's unique software has helped drive the business forward.

"GBC has used RomaxDesigner for over a year now, focusing on automotive transmission, differential, and transfer case applications. We have benefited greatly from Romax's technical support with training of our bearing engineers and ongoing support which has enabled us to use Romax to its maximum capabilities. This has been invaluable to GBC. We are very pleased that Romax has achieved the ISO 9001:2000 accreditation."

Romax, which also works alongside renowned international clients such as Harley Davidson, John Deere and Hyosung, decided to work towards this accreditation following a three-year growth period, which has seen the company increase its turnover by around 30% year on year. It decided that the accreditation would be the perfect way to accelerate this growth, by investing substantially in its processes and procedures to optimise efficiency and improve customer satisfaction.

"By focusing intensely on our customers' quality expectations, we will be able to improve the customer experience and better help them to achieve their business objectives," explains Romax's operations and software manager, Andy Poon, who managed the ISO 9001:2000 accreditation process along with senior project manager, Kris Robinson.

"This accreditation has shown us that quality is wholly the perception of the customer and that they have a considerable role to play in the process of continuous improvement."

In 2006 alone, in addition to achieving this accreditation, the company has launched new offices in both Germany and India and developed the latest version of its market leading engineering design software, RomaxDesigner R12.3 - a package that is revolutionising engineering design.
