At the 2012 NAB Show in Las Vegas, Rohde & Schwarz will present its energy-efficient broadcasting solutions. The company has expanded its transmitter portfolio to include new models for ISDB-Tb. Rohde & Schwarz has been developing products for the Latin American standard for years. The compact R&S ETC TV analyzer has primarily been designed to address this market. It offers all functions needed for transmitter quality tests - at an attractive price/performance ratio.

Munich, - The compact R&S ETC TV analyzer is the latest Rohde & Schwarz solution for digital transmitter measurements. The multistandard mid-range TV analyzer supports the ISDB-T, DVB-T and DVB-T2 digital terrestrial standards. It is an invaluable tool for network operators when putting transmitters into operation and when performing service and maintenance work. The R&S ETC offers spectrum analysis, TV analysis and scalar network analysis in a single box, and is ideal for coverage measurements such as network coverage measurements using a vehicle. The compact 3 HU, 1/2 19" R&S ETC has an optimum price/performance ratio.

The ISDB-Tb models of the R&S SLx8000 low-power transmitter and the R&S THU9 high-power transmitter feature outstanding efficiency. The R&S SLx8000 is based on a tried-and-tested platform which has already proven its high quality in numerous transmitter networks. Thanks to its flexible design concept, it can be easily adjusted to the requirements of TV networks and reliably closes existing coverage gaps. Its excellent price/performance ratio makes it the perfect solution for expanding television networks to include reliable low-power transmitters. These compact 19" UHF/VHF transmitters now also cover the ISDB-Tb standard in the power range up to 100 W. The space-saving R&S SLx8000 takes up only two or three height units in a rack, making it ideal for small, difficult-to-reach transmitter sites with limited space.

The recently introduced R&S THU9 high-power transmitter achieves an efficiency of up to 28 percent for ISDB-Tb and up to 30 percent for ATSC. This above-average efficiency significantly reduces energy costs. With an output power of up to 15 kW per rack for ISDB-Tb and 18.5 kW for ATSC, the R&S THU9 offers the highest power density on the market. The result is optimal use of floor space and lower infrastructure costs. The R&S SLx8000 and the R&S THU9 both boast a practical and convenient operating concept: an ergonomic, easy-to-access operating unit. The R&S THU9 even features a display unit with touchscreen.
