Fullerton, CA - May 22, 2008 -National Technical Systems Inc. (NASDAQ: NTSC) (NTS), a leading provider of engineering services, is pleased to announce that Rick Smith has joined the NTS Fullerton Operations group.
Mr. Smith comes to NTS after 34 years with Wyle Laboratories where he previously held the position of Director of El Segundo Test Operations.
"I'm pleased to be on the NTS team. NTS has a great reputation and is a recognized leader in the industry," stated Mr. Smith.
Specializing in the field of dynamics test, Mr. Smith contributed to the development of ordnance-induced pyrotechnic shock testing, environmental stress screening, high-performance multi-shaker extreme level dynamics test systems, and specialized techniques for testing large aircraft and spacecraft systems and components.
Well known within the technical community, he is a member of AIAA, SEM, and IEST. He is the author of many papers and articles on a wide range of testing topics, has received numerous awards, and delivered the Keynote Address at the 2004 Annual Technical Meeting of the Institute of Environmental Sciences and Technology.
Dr. Martin Lonky, NTS Fullerton General Manager, welcomes Rick to the NTS family with his wide range of test and engineering expertise, and is looking forward to extending NTS services to our customers with this added strength.
