Packed with Communications Features and Extensive Memory

CHESTERLAND OH - Many manufacturers and organizations use dataTaker DT800 systems for monitoring their critical machinery, manufacturing processes, temperature profiling, and many more applications. However, these older 800 model dataloggers are rapidly reaching the end of their product lifetime and increasingly liable to develop problems, and dataTaker and its suppliers can no longer support this legacy model. As dataTaker's master distributor in North America, CAS DataLoggers offers companies a cost-effective replacement for this outmoded technology with the new dataTaker Series 3 DT80 Intelligent Data Logger.

With no guarantee that legacy systems such as the DT800 can be repaired or replaced--for example if the data logger is accidentally immersed or a part is overheated--manufacturers face the very real possibility of disastrous damage to their equipment. However, companies can act on this realization to take advantage of all the new communications options and reliability of the new Series 3 DT80 while still relying on dataTaker's famous durability and large memory. Rather than depending on just the DT800's serial connection, DT80 users gain a flexible communications suite including RS232 with modem support, Ethernet and USB memory stick ports allowing the dataTaker to connect locally, remotely or over the Internet. There's no need for polling or specific host software since FTP provides data directly to an office over the internet or mobile phone network.

Get an immediate notification the moment your value goes out of specification on dataTaker Series 3 dataloggers, such as when temperature starts to rise and poses a threat to equipment and products. This feature can more than pay for your new system in a single event when you consider the production delays that could easily happen using a legacy system while waiting for a repair that might never come.

This standalone data logging solution features analog, digital, pulse and serial data recording capabilities, with 18-bit resolution and a 30 V input measurement range with a dual channel concept allowing up to 10 isolated or 15 common referenced analog inputs to be used in many combinations. These inputs enable connection to most sensors and data measurement sources so that temperature, voltage, current, 4-20mA loops, resistance, bridges, strain gauges can all be logged and scaled. The DT80 also features a software configurable serial port that can be set for RS-232, RS-485 or RS-422 communications and offers built-in support for Modbus RTU communications as either a master or slave device. All measured data can be used in calculations or can be scaled, logged and returned in engineering units or within statistical reporting. The datalogger also includes a built-in display and removable screw terminals for secure connections.

The DT80 also simplifies data management, storing up to 10 million data points in user-defined memory so that users can log as much or as little as needed using independent control of schedule size and mode, and also overwriting or stopping logging once memory is full. Additionally, FREE user-friendly dEX software is included with Series 3 dataTaker dataloggers and comes preinstalled with a Windows Explorer-style graphical interface allowing quick setup and configuration of the logger, configured and run directly from a web browser enabling access either locally or remotely over the Internet. Operators can use any of the logger's built-in communications ports to view dEX, including Ethernet, USB and RS-232.
