Reichhold Names Edward R. Leydon General Counsel


Research Triangle Park, NC (June 29, 2006) - Reichhold, Inc. announced today the appointment of Edward R. Leydon of New Hope, Pennsylvania to the position of Reichhold general counsel effective July 15.

As Reichhold general counsel, Leydon will serve as Reichhold's chief legal officer, strategically planning and directing all aspects of the organization's legal affairs on a global basis. He will provide counsel and advice to Reichhold's executive management as well as other functional areas of the company. Leydon will also be responsible for management of various outside counsel which Reichhold engages for specific representation on a wide range of legal matters.

A senior attorney with over 35 years of experience in domestic and international law, Ed Leydon joins Reichhold from the Schering-Plough Corporation, where he served as director of international law for the company's global pharmaceutical business. His career has spanned roles with major private law firms in New York City and Paris, France to in-house experience with a variety of Fortune-500 companies such as Revlon, Rhône-Poulenc Rorer and SmithKline Beecham, among others.

Leydon's area of expertise includes licensing and distribution, mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, employment law, joint ventures and intellectual property, all areas of significance to Reichhold on both day-to-day and long-term bases.

A graduate of Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine (USA), Leydon received his juris doctor (law degree) from Duke University School of Law in Durham, North Carolina.

Leydon will be based out of Reichhold's World Headquarters and Technology Center in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina. He will report directly to Mitzi A. Van Leeuwen, Senior Vice President - Corporate Services. He succeeds current general counsel, Daniel E. Uyesato, who recently announced his plans to leave Reichhold to pursue opportunities in international private practice after more than 15 years of service.
