Registration Now Open For 1st MCA Business Conference

Networking Event Set for November 5 & 6 in Orlando

Ann Arbor, MI -- Registration is now open for the first Motion Control Association (MCA) Business Conference, set for November 5 & 6 at the Portofino Bay Hotel in Orlando, Florida.

Global motion control industry leaders will attend to hear insightful talks on the motion control market, the economic outlook, the impact of the 2008 US Presidential Election, standards developments that impact motion control companies, and other important issues that affect business opportunities in the near future.

The event is co-located with the Robotics Industry Forum sponsored by Robotic Industries Association (RIA). Now in its 16th year, the Forum attracts some 150 robotics industry leaders. The synergies between the interests of robotics companies and motion control companies make this co-location especially valuable, said Jeffrey A. Burnstein, Executive Vice President of MCA.

"Everyone involved in robotics and motion control is interested in issues like the global economic outlook and the impact of the election," Burnstein noted. "And, since motion is such a key part of robotics, the leaders of these companies are all interested in finding new business opportunities that will arise from the many networking activities we have planned at the co-located events."

The MCA Business Conference and RIA Forum officially begin with a joint networking reception from 6-8 pm on Wednesday, November 5. An optional golf outing for attendees of both events is set from 8 am to 3 pm on Wednesday.

On Thursday, November 6, both groups will hear speakers like Mara Liasson of National Public Radio and Alan Beaulieu of the Institute for Trend Research in the morning. In the afternoon, MCA and RIA will hold breakout sessions on topics specifically related to their industry. The evening will feature a joint dinner and entertainment activities at Universal Orlando's CityWalk.

MCA's Thursday afternoon features talks on the motion control market from Alex Chausovsky from IMS Research and Paul Kellett of MCA. An in-depth review of standards developments will be presented by Dan Jones of Incremotion Associates. An interactive panel discussion with MCA Board Members will allow MCA members to influence the future direction of MCA activities.

The RIA Forum continues through Noon on Friday, November 7. MCA Business Conference attendees will be invited to attend for an additional fee.
