Raymarine Launches Podcast Series

MERRIMACK, N.H., Oct. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Raymarine, a world leader in marine electronics, today announced the launch of its inaugural Podcast Series, which features a number of interviews with fishing and boating experts and celebrities from around the country. Each of the 15-30 minute audio recordings will focus on a specific topic, ranging from trends in marine electronics to professional tips and tricks for fishing large game. The podcasts will be available for download from Raymarine's Web site, where new recordings will be posted on a regular basis.

"At Raymarine, we strive to use the latest technology, whether it's with our products or the way we communicate with our customers, dealers and partners," said Todd Hoskins, senior vice president of marketing for Raymarine. "With nine million U.S. adults downloading podcasts every month, we feel this series will be an excellent channel for the boating and fishing community and are confident our listeners will agree."

The first podcast in the series, which is currently available on Raymarine's Web site, is titled "From the Fly Bridge; The Advantages of Multifunction Displays" and features Captain Ray Rosher, one of the country's best known and most respected fishing guides. Born in Miami, Captain Ray inherited a love of fishing from his father and has been a full time fishing guide in the South Florida and Bahamian waters for more than 20 years. A master at discovering great local spots, Captain Ray is also an accomplished sportfisherman, capturing numerous first place wins with his team in challenging fishing competitions including the ESPN Billfish Extreme Release League Tournament and the World Sailfish Championship. During the podcast, Captain Ray discusses how multifunction displays have changed the boating experience. In addition, he shares some great moments from the most recent tournament season including this summer's Raft Tournament, which required competitors to fish from an inner tube.

"I had a great time recording the session and hope the listeners find what I had to say enjoyable and insightful. I think this new series is a great forum for boating and fishing enthusiasts to share information and stories, and I'm looking forward to listening to future installments," said Captain Ray.

Upcoming segments of the podcast series will feature well-known fishermen and host of ESPN's "Raymarine Inside Big Game Fishing the World" Captain Norm Isaacs and solo ocean racing phenomenon Brad Van Liew, who has completed two solo circumnavigations and logged over 100,000 miles and more than 327 days alone at sea.
