Raycap Develops Customizable Mounting Configurations and Integration Kits for Strikesorb SPDs

LIBERTY LAKE, Wash. (April 28, 2008) -- Providing a convenient means of installing transient voltage suppression modules into new and existing enclosures, Raycap Inc. has developed customized mounting configurations and integration kits for its Strikesorb surge protection devices (SPDs). Raycap Inc., a leader in transient voltage surge suppression technology, offers Strikesorb surge protection devices (SPDs) to provide uninterrupted protection from successive surges up to 200kA without requiring maintenance.

The Strikesorb customizable mounting and integration kits feature multiple installation options, including direct installation onto busbars, which precludes the need to install additional fuses or interconnection wires. Strikesorb modules can also be installed in-line, reducing cable lengths and clamping voltages.

"Our engineers work with customers to design Strikesorb modules into new equipment in order to provide the most advanced transient voltage protection available," said Jeff Gibbons, Raycap VP Sales and Marketing.
"For customers that need to upgrade their surge protection system in existing equipment, our customizable mounting configurations and integration kits allow engineers to design Strikesorb modules into almost any machine, such as variable speed drives and uninterruptible power supplies."

Raycap's engineers provide drawings, schematics, integration kits, prototypes and installation instructions to customers seeking to install Strikesorb modules to protect sensitive electronics for power surges.

Designed to meet both the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) 61643-1 standard for surge protection devices and the recently (2007) revised UL 1449 -2nd edition - safety standard, Strikesorb modules provide high-surge handling capability, combined with ultra-low let-through voltage to the load, enabling it to absorb and dissipate the excess energy from lightning strikes and power surges in a completely safe manner.
