RTP Company Launches Elastomer Division

WINONA, MN, USA - October 13, 2006 - Specialty compounder RTP Company announced today that its advanced thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) technology has emerged as a new division. RTP Company's TPE Division, lead by General Manager Scott Mumm, solidifies its commitment to provide customers with a complete portfolio of thermoplastic solutions in both elastomers and rigid substrates.

"RTP Company is already well-known as the problem solver for challenging thermoplastic applications. With our new TPE Division, our focus is to establish RTP Company as the one-stop supplier of both rigid and TPE solutions," said Mumm. "We will also use our vast compounding experience to incorporate additional properties typically not found in traditional TPEs, such as conductive and wear resistant technologies." Scott Mumm is in his twentieth year with RTP Company, initially beginning his career as a Product Development Engineer, then moving into sales, and subsequently sales management.

Additional key personnel appointed to the TPE Division include Paul Killian, Elastomer Technical Marketing Manager, and Richard Rabe, Elastomer Technical Manager. Killian has 16 years of thermoplastic experience at RTP Company, including service as a Product Development Engineer, International Program Manager, and TPE Product Manager. Rabe also brings a wealth of expertise to the TPE Division, including a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering and over 17 years of material, process, and application development experience in TPEs.

"As a supplier and compounder of all of the available TPE chemistries and a host of specialty additive technologies, RTP Company is uniquely positioned to deliver to our customers the best TPE for a given application," said Rabe. "I look forward to being part of the team that leverages that advantage to make RTP Company a major player in the world of TPEs."

RTP Company is providing a substantial amount of support to the newly formed TPE Division by investing in TPE testing and manufacturing equipment. A new research lab has been established to provide customers with increased responsiveness to their developmental requirements and to optimize design of experiment (DOA) performance. Additional benefits are an expanded TPE product offering and increased quality assurance.
