RIA Restoration Certification awarded to 9 professionals.

April 8, 2011 - RIA has awarded Certified Restorer® (CR) certification to nine restoration professionals, at its 66th Annual Convention and Exhibition in Colorado Springs, CO. Professionals who achieve CR status, which is highest certification awarded in cleaning and restoration industry, must complete specified educational requirements, as well as author formal paper or report on approved professional subject. They must also demonstrate knowledge and commitment to RIA's code of business ethics.

Columbia, MD - Nine restoration professionals have attained the Certified Restorer® (CR) certification from the Restoration Industry Association (RIA). This is the highest certification awarded in the cleaning and restoration industry to professionals engaged in property damage restoration as a result of fire, smoke, water, vandalism and other perils.

Recognized at RIA's 66th Annual Convention & Exhibition in Colorado Springs, CO., earlier last month were: Sean McEnaney, (CR #575), Trimac General Contractor Inc.; P. Mark Hartmann, (CR #576), Blu Sky Restoration Contractors; Katie Sherman Smith, (CR #577), Professional Home Care, Inc.; Joshua William Smith, (CR #578), Professional Home Care, Inc.; Monte R. Collins, (CR #579), J.L. Fox General Contractors, Inc.; Greg Holtzman, (CR #580), J.L. Fox General Contractors, Inc.; Lori A. Young (CR #581), Bartwood Construction, Inc.; Michael Sellenschuetter, (CR #582), CSM Construction, Inc.; and Drew Bisping, (CR #583), Go Blue Sky.

"RIA congratulates these individuals for attaining their Certified Restorer designation," said Cynthia Hereth, director of training and certification for RIA. "The Restoration Industry Association continues to maintain and elevate the level of professionalism among its members. These professionals should be proud of their accomplishment because it is a reflection of their desire to be the best in the industry."

Those who achieve the CR status must complete intensive educational requirements demanding a broad range of expertise in the restoration arts and sciences. They also must author a formal paper or report on an approved professional subject, and demonstrate their knowledge and their commitment to RIA's code of business ethics.

The CR program was started in 1976 by RIA and the "Certified Restorer" designation represents the elite in the field. A CR must continually meet the standards expected of him/her by RIA in return for the privilege of displaying the "CR" credential.
