People on the Move spotlights trailblazers in standardization, highlighting their latest achievements, advancements, and contributions to the standards community. The American National Standards Institute (ANSI), is pleased to welcome Xu Dongmei of the China Electronic Standardization Institute (CESI) as an international guest researcher. She will be in the United States for one year, working at ANSI through March 5, 2010, followed by three months at the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) and the remainder of her stay at the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE).
Ms. Xu is a senior engineer with CESI, focusing on standardization in the areas of information technology and data telecommunication. She participates on many Chinese Technical Committees (TCs) and Subcommittees (SCs), including International Organization for Standardization (ISO) / International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) Joint Technical Committee (JTC) 1, Information Technology, SC 6, Telecommunications and information exchange between systems. She has also conducted research on object identifier (OID) technology and its application, and assisted in the establishment of the China OID Registration Center.
During her stay with ANSI, Ms. Xu will be assisting with developing additional content for the StandardsPortal. She will also be meeting with other U.S. organizations as part of her research on information technology topics and to learn more about the U.S. system.
