Pentadyne Taps Industry Veteran Mark E. McGough as President and CEO


CHATSWORTH, CA -- 05/31/2006 -- Pentadyne Power Corporation, a world-class technology leader in manufacturing advanced flywheel power systems for protecting critical applications, announced the appointment of energy technology veteran Mark E. McGough as President and CEO. McGough will lead Pentadyne to its next level of accelerated growth. With more than 20 years' experience successfully growing international and domestic energy firms, McGough brings to Pentadyne added expertise in new technology launches, strategic alliances and profit and loss management along with sales, marketing and engineering leadership in the energy technology marketplace. Flint Craig, who served as interim president and CEO since August of 2005, will resume his role as COO and CFO.

McGough joins Pentadyne from Envinta Corporation and Energetics Pty, Ltd., after completing a 30-month successful turnaround of the 20-year-old privately held firm. As CEO, McGough increased bookings and profits nearly 200 percent in less than three years and created an attractive exit for investors via a trade sale. Previously, McGough served as senior vice president sales and marketing for Silicon Power Corporation, increasing sales of its power quality line of products by over 50 percent in 12 months. Prior to his success at Silicon Power, McGough was the division president and general manager of Maxwell Technologies' ultracapacitor business. Under his leadership, Maxwell successfully launched its new PowerCache® ultracapacitor product, taking it from a laboratory prototype to the commercial centerpiece of Maxwell's business.

An accomplished writer and presenter, McGough earned his Bachelors of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Notre Dame and his Masters of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the New Jersey Institute of Technology.
