Press release date: July 21, 2008

Erie, Pa.- According to the results of a recent performance study conducted by The Pennsylvania State University (Penn State) to analyze the performance of rare earth tube magnet circuits, Eriez' Xtreme(TM) magnets continue to be the strongest magnets in the industry. This is the second test of its kind performed by Penn State in the past five years; results from the previous test also proved Xtreme to be the most powerful.

Other magnets rated extremely low compared to Eriez Xtreme, proving once again that rare earth magnets are not all created equal, as some would believe. Eriez recommends that companies verify the holding force of magnetic separators to ensure magnet vendors are quoting equivalent strength separators.

The Xtreme magnet circuit, used in tubes, grates and liquid line traps, provides ultimate product purity and performance, making it an ideal choice for customers in the process industries. Plus, the power of Xtreme comes at no extra cost to customers!

"We are proud that this new test from Penn State proves that competitive units still can't match the strength of Eriez Xtreme," said Tim Shuttleworth, Eriez President and CEO. "Eriez' experience and expertise in magnetics has enabled us to consistently develop new and more powerful magnet designs that surpass the competition."
