Oxford Instruments and Green Imaging Technologies announce NMR partnership

Enhance capabilities and improve access to NMR for core analysis

Oxford Instruments Magnetic Resonance (OIMR) and Green Imaging Technologies, Inc. (GIT) have announced an agreement to establish a strategic partnership to bring complete cutting edge Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) solutions to the core analysis community. The partnership will open opportunities for NMR core analysis to be used by technicians with no specialist NMR knowledge or training and make special core analysis routine.

Under the new partnership, OIMR and GIT will work together to develop new and exciting technologies to enhance the capabilities of NMR for core analysis and improve the accessibility of the technique.

GIT's LithoMetrix and GIT Systems core analysis software will be available exclusively on OIMR's GeoSpec2 modular NMR core analysis instruments, and the two companies will collaborate to develop integrated hardware and software platforms to promote the use of NMR for core analysis. GIT also operates its own fully equipped special core analysis (SCAL) laboratory, which will offer expert backup support to users of the partnership's NMR systems.

OIMR and GIT will jointly offer core analysis NMR systems for applications ranging from routine measurements of porosity, bulk volume irreducible (BVI), free-fluid index (FFI), pore size distributions and T1/T2 cutoffs, to sophisticated applications involving pulsed field gradients for diffusion studies, two-dimensional data processing, and capillary pressure measurement. Whatever the application, the software is completely integrated with the hardware, so instrument setup, calibration, data acquisition and processing can be carried out by core lab technicians without expertise in NMR.

"OIMR and GIT have been collaborating for more than 3 years and opted to formalize the exclusive partnership to take advantage of the close working relationship between our expert teams that has developed over the years," said GIT CEO Jill Green. "The new partnership brings together the best in NMR hardware, software, applications knowledge, and market understanding."

About Green Imaging Technologies

Green Imaging Technologies (GIT) is committed to providing innovative solutions for lab-based analysis of rock core via Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR). GIT's products and services offer fast, accurate, non-destructive analysis of rock core samples used by the oil and gas industry in exploration and reservoir characterization.

Beginning with a patented capillary pressure measurement technique in 2005, GIT has the goal of making NMR core analysis more accessible and expanding the analysis that can be done with NMR. GIT's product offerings have evolved and expanded to include a full suite of routine and advanced core analysis tools. A culture of continual innovation has driven the company to be the industry leader in NMR core analysis.

Green Imaging Technologies also offer commercial testing services which allow clients to take advantage of a unique suite of non-destructive testing protocols without setting up their own lab. TheGIT team are experts in NMR rock core analysis ensuring clients get the best data possible from their core. Visit greenimaging.comfor more information on GIT's products and services.
