MOORESTOWN, N.J., Aug. 8 -- OPEX Corporation, an industry leader in mixed document mail extractors, sorters and scanners, today announced ImageEdge, a comprehensive image enhancement software tool designed to optimize images as they are captured on AS-Series Scanners. Already adept at minimizing pre-scan document preparation labor and expense, OPEX Scanners with ImageEdge will now increase automation and reduce costs after scanning.
ImageEdge uses several advanced image enhancement technologies to make documents cleaner and more legible. As a result, more data can be captured accurately using optical character recognition (OCR) software as opposed to manual keying. This streamlines data validation and accelerates integration with critical business processes.
Some of the most common uses for ImageEdge include bad photocopies, multi- shaded documents, dot-matrix images, low-contrast originals, and carbonless forms. In designing ImageEdge, particular emphasis was placed on repairing and producing crisp 1-D and 2-D barcodes for maximum readability. Removing image noise with ImageEdge also reduces file sizes.
ImageEdge can be seamlessly integrated with AS-Series Scanners without any additional hardware requirements or changes. With these new image enhancement features, OPEX equipment provides automation from the time mail is received until the data and images are delivered to the back-end processing system.
