Austin, Tx. - iKey's nonincendive keyboards and pointing devices, built for use in hazardous locations, can now be manufactured with USB cables. Originally, these products were available with PS/2 cables only.
"Providing nonincendive products with USB cables is helpful for end-users who need a safe keyboard or pointing device, but do not have PS/2 cable connections on the host computer," said Danielle Nepustil, Marketing Manager at iKey.
Nonincendive (NI) products will not ignite surrounding flammable or explosive gas-in-air or vapor-in-air atmospheres under normal operations according to specified test conditions. Each of iKey's NI products are tested by Factory Mutual and have approval for Class I, Division II, Groups A, B, C and D. iKey can provide additional technical information regarding field wiring requirements for NI products upon request.
iKey's NI products include industrial keyboards for desktop and panel mount applications, as well as individual pointing devices. These products are often used in companies manufacturing pharmaceutical products and in chemical processing.
