OTEKCORP.com has released its New NQL Series of Loop Powered instruments that have been 10CFR50-B qualified (NRC Requirement for Nuclear Power Plants). The NQL consists of eight (8) models that accept 4-20 or 10-50mA input and displays the process variable in digital or digital/bargraph mode. Both LCD and LED versions are available and some models come with RS232E I/O. (Also Loop Powered).
The new series is intended for replacement (or new installations) of analog meters where only the 2 signal wires are available (no power source). The LCD versions come with automatic tricolor backlight (also Loop Powered). Four packages are presently available: 4 ½" Switchboard (also mounts in ¼ DIN cutout), 6" Edgewise (1.75" wide), 6" Edgewise (1" wide) and miniature 2.9 x 1.5" x 1.5" (digital only). All units are offered in plastic or metal housings with EMI/RFT gaskets. Screw connectors and Seismic Qualified.
One of the most important features of the new NQL is that no DC-DC converters are used that might reflect "input noise" into existing current loops and the fact that legacy Nuclear Power Plants have no provisions for bringing AC or DC power in some "Control Room" panels. The NQL is also available in Mil-Spec, I.S. and Industrial Grades.
