High Bay lighting is the best way to efficiently illuminate mid to high-ceiling space. High bay lamps are ideal for open areas with at least 13 feet of space between the floor and the bottom of the lighting fixture. Replacing Mercury Lamps
The ALTLEDŽ T8 is the brightest LED T8 tube in the world; putting two 4ft 46W tubes together in a high-bay fixture will perfectly replace the traditional high-bay lighting, consuming less watts as opposed to the 250W required by mercury lights. Not only is this new lighting application brighter and saves more energy, it is also mercury and hazardous materials free.
Replacing Fluorescent Lamps
The ALTLEDŽ replacement bulbs emits light at a 180 degree pattern vs the 360 degree pattern given off by T8 fluorescent bulbs. This means that all of the light generated by the ALTLEDŽ bulb is focused in the 180 degree area. Traditional lighting sources such as T8 fluorescent bulb has a beam angle of 360 degrees; a majority of the light generated by the T8 bulb is going out the sides and top of bulb, which does not benefit the intended target. In this case, only 50% of the light given off by the T8 fluorescent is actually hitting the intended target. This reduces light pollution and does not waste unnecessary light exposure.
In terms of product lifespan, a fluorescent bulb at the end of its life is obvious because it flickers and then dies. A T8 fluorescent bulb is considered end-of-life at 60% of its light output, which equates to roughly 14,400 hours. ALTLEDŽ replacement bulbs on the other hand, calculate the end of life at 70% which is approximately 50,000 hours. In other words, the traditional T8 bulbs will need to be replaced 3.5 times to equate the same product lifespan of ALTLEDŽ T8 tubes.
