From New York City to Los Angeles, Sprint Reveals the Intricacies of 4G Engineering and Provides Consumers Tips for Ways to Use New Technology on West Coast
LOS ANGELES - November 22, 2010 - Today, Sprint (NYSE:S) takes to the streets of Hollywood to provide a "behind-the-scenes" glimpse into the power of 4G with its latest video, "Wiring Up 4G in Los Angeles: Capacity." This video illustrates the technology backbone behind 4G, explains why Sprint is able to service many users at once, and how coverage is strategically engineered for mountains and canyons. Currently available in 62 markets1 - including New York, Chicago, Baltimore and Houston - Sprint 4G enables fast mobile downloads, video chat capabilities and turbo-charged Web browsing up to 10 times faster than 3G service.2 Sprint is the only national carrier to offer 4G, and the official debut of Sprint 4G is coming soon to Southern California.
Many people may wonder what it takes to build out this new service throughout the sprawling geography of Los Angeles and Northern Orange County. This video will help educate and inform. In particular, "Wiring Up 4G in Los Angeles" demonstrates the advantage that Sprint has in terms of spectrum and capacity.
