National Premiere of "Wiring up 4G in Los Angeles" - Latest Behind-the-Scenes Sprint Video Hits Internet

From New York City to Los Angeles, Sprint Reveals the Intricacies of 4G Engineering and Provides Consumers Tips for Ways to Use New Technology on West Coast

LOS ANGELES - November 22, 2010 - Today, Sprint (NYSE:S) takes to the streets of Hollywood to provide a "behind-the-scenes" glimpse into the power of 4G with its latest video, "Wiring Up 4G in Los Angeles: Capacity." This video illustrates the technology backbone behind 4G, explains why Sprint is able to service many users at once, and how coverage is strategically engineered for mountains and canyons. Currently available in 62 markets1 - including New York, Chicago, Baltimore and Houston - Sprint 4G enables fast mobile downloads, video chat capabilities and turbo-charged Web browsing up to 10 times faster than 3G service.2 Sprint is the only national carrier to offer 4G, and the official debut of Sprint 4G is coming soon to Southern California.

Many people may wonder what it takes to build out this new service throughout the sprawling geography of Los Angeles and Northern Orange County. This video will help educate and inform. In particular, "Wiring Up 4G in Los Angeles" demonstrates the advantage that Sprint has in terms of spectrum and capacity. Picture 4G spectrum as a highway and the users of the network as cars on the road - Sprint allows for a multi-lane highway with lots of room to move. Ultimately, Sprint's 4G spectrum position promises to allow data to move faster, and more smoothly, even when the network is filled with users.

The video also details some of the many ways consumers can benefit from Sprint 4G in their daily lives. For example:

o "Free Wi-Fi Available Here" signs will no longer bind you to the coffee house. With the Overdrive(TM) 3G/4G Mobile Hotspot by Sierra Wireless, you can connect a laptop or any Wi-Fi enabled device to the Internet at speeds that are up to 10 times faster than 3G.

o It's your anniversary this weekend and you haven't ordered the tickets to the show at the Disney Concert Hall that your wife has been talking about for weeks? No need to wait on hold or suffer through a line - purchase tickets immediately on your HTC EVO 4G or Samsung Epic 4G.

o Got a hankering for a taco? Search for the best food truck in your vicinity using one of the food-truck applications in the Android(TM) Market.

o You are on your way to dine at your favorite sushi restaurant when you discover your client prefers Italian for your business lunch. No problem! Use Sprint 4G to instantly find a nearby restaurant with the app OpenTable and book a reservation within seconds.

o You want to head to Griffith Park to read "The Girl Who Played with Fire" on your Nook e-reader or iPad(TM) but you'll have to download it first. This can take up to 45 minutes using a 3G connection. Using the Sprint 4G network, it will typically take just a few minutes.

o You disagree with your friend about who is USC's all-time leading rusher. There is one way to settle the squabble: Search for the answer on your 4G mobile device using quicker Internet speeds. You can also check for recent stats, scores or highlights of your favorite team.
